NU Projectontwikkeling to continue as VanWonen

News item, Area and Property Development

On 17 June, The Hague-based developer NU Projectontwikkeling will officially change its name to VanWonen. This marks the culmination of the integration process that began with its acquisition by area developer VanWonen in the summer of 2022.

With the signing in the summer of 2022, NU Projectontwikkeling became part of area developer VanWonen. The move proved beneficial for both companies, their customers and other stakeholders. For about three years now, the developers have been working together on area developments and housing construction projects.

Smooth integration
Alfred Bolks, CEO of VanWonen says: “Over the past period, both sides have worked hard to ensure a smooth integration of the companies. The final step in this process is ‘changing the name plates’. On Tuesday 17 June at Provada, the name NU Projectontwikkeling will officially be retired, and it will continue as VanWonen.”

Michel Zaadhof, Director of Property Development at VanWonen: “The best proof that the integration has been successful, is that our people have stayed. Changing our name to VanWonen is just the logical last step. We share the same mindset: that entrepreneurial drive is still there and you can really sense the mutual benefit in our projects. And with our expertise in the area of affordable housing, working alongside housing associations, we have broadened the VanWonen proposition. Operating as one VanWonen, we bring more expertise, more clout and greater investment capacity to the table, allowing us to offer more solutions for the housing shortage in the Netherlands.”

Pushing forward in area development
Alfred Bolks continues: “Our strategy at VanWonen revolves around ‘pushing forward’ and an entrepreneurial spirit. It’s what the market and society need, and it’s the drive with which projects and areas are taken on. Our focus is on achieving annual growth in the number of homes we develop and sell. The demand for housing is enormous and by scaling up, we do our part in the housing construction task. With 80 professionals, we are working on housing projects and complex area developments throughout the country. Our five offices ensure we remain closely and locally involved.”
