Start of partnership with Veluwezoom Verkerk for 88 homes in Dillekwartier in Arnhem
News item, Area and Property Development
On Wednesday afternoon, at real estate fair Provada, area developer VanWonen signed a partnership agreement with Veluwezoom Verkerk Bouw for the construction of the first phase of the Dillekwartier project in Arnhem. It concerns 88 homes in various types: terraced houses, semi-detached houses, detached houses and homes that are suitable for ‘ageing in place’. Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2026.
The Dillekwartier project is part of the new Kruidenhorst neighbourhood on the green northern edge of Schuytgraaf in Arnhem, close to the ecological zone and the floodplain landscape of the Lower Rhine.
Dillekwartier gets NL Area Label
Mireille Jeurnink, Director of Property Development at VanWonen: “The Dillekwartier will be a wonderful place to live, nestled in a gorgeous green setting. Residents will enjoy peace and quiet, with a district shopping centre, sports clubs, and schools all nearby. And Dillekwartier will be the very first VanWonen project to receive an NL Area Label.”
NL Greenlabel’s Area Label is a method for assessing the sustainability of outdoor areas. Based on the themes of climate, biodiversity and health, an integrated approach to design, realisation and management can be achieved. The label provides insight into the degree of sustainability and offers tools to further enhance an area’s sustainability.
Modern village-inspired architecture
Dillekwartier was designed by Weusten Liedenbaum Architecten. The result is a modern, village-inspired architectural style, characterized by natural materials and distinctive details such as eye-catching dormers and finely executed masonry.
Ron Brons, Managing Director of Veluwezoom Verkerk: “Every home in this project will be fully zero-energy through integrated building features. This is achieved using robust insulation, solar panels, heat recovery systems and green roofs. There will also be provisions to support local insect, bird and bat populations. With its beautiful architecture, this project is a fantastic undertaking for our skilled people. We’re proud to bring this project to life as VanWonen’s partner.”
Planning
Registration (pre-sale) for the 88 homes in the first phase of Dillekwartier started this month. VanWonen expects to start sales in July. It is expected that the all-in-one building permit will be final by late 2025, with construction beginning in the second quarter of 2026. The handover of the homes is planned for the first half of 2027. More information: www.dillekwartier.nl.
