Start of construction celebration 2nd phase Duinzicht project in Zwolle

On Thursday afternoon, alderperson Dorrit de Jong (Housing and Area Development Stadshagen) ceremoniously gave the go-ahead for the construction of the second phase of the Duinzicht project in Zwolle. In this phase, a total of 18 spacious dune houses will be built, on the edge of the Milligerplas lake in Zwolle. All houses are sustainably developed, climate-proof and have their own heat supply. Duinzicht is a new-build project by area developer VanWonen in collaboration with Reinbouw and AG Nova Architecten.
The start of construction was celebrated with the unveiling of a sand sculpture by alderperson Dorrit de Jong, Mireille Jeurnink (VanWonen) and Antoinette Wilmot (Reinbouw). After the unveiling, the future residents had the opportunity to get to know each other and share their first experiences while enjoying a drink. Beforehand, the future residents were invited to visit the construction site.
Alderperson Dorrit de Jong congratulated everyone on their new homes: “Duinzicht is a wonderful development with sustainable, future-proof houses in a unique spot in the dunes of Zwolle, a mere stone’s throw from the Milligerplas. This second and final phase will complete the Duinzicht project. Now that construction is underway, I wish all future residents much happiness in their new homes in this unique part of the city.”
Duinzicht: spacious living in the dunes
The Duinzicht neighbourhood is nestled in a unique landscape of high dunes, small waterways, and sweeping views of the Milligerplas lake. The houses are duplexes as well as attached houses in a row of three or four. Due to their location in the dunes and the differences in height, no two houses are the same. Each house has its own unique sightline and spectacular view. There is no private garden, but each home features two terraces, with the terrace on the first floor almost always extending into the dune landscape.

Timeline and availability
The homes in Duinzicht phase 2 are scheduled for handover in the second quarter of 2026. A few homes are still available in this new-build project. Click here for more information.
