Highest point reached for phase 1 of In de Luwte in Drachtstervaart
News item, Area and Property Development
On Thursday 15 July, the highest point of phase 1 of In de Luwte in Drachtstervaart was reached. Alderman Hartogh Heys of the municipality of Smallingerland, Henk Troost, director of contracting firm Dons & Troost, and Mireille Jeurnink, VanWonen’s director of property development, signed a certificate that, together with a newspaper of that day, was put into a time capsule and buried. The future residents of the first island witnessed this event, and afterwards everyone toasted to the successful progress of the construction work. Because of the Corona virus, the start-of-construction moment of the new build project had passed without any ceremony, so this was the first time the future residents met.
Mireille Jeurnink, director of property development at VanWonen: “We are extremely pleased that there is so much enthusiasm for this beautiful project. Construction is progressing well, and we can already celebrate reaching the highest point of phase 1. I hope that the next phases will proceed at the same rapid pace.”
A beautiful water-rich neighbourhood with a diversity of homes
In de Luwte phase 1 is the first of three phases to be completed as part of the new build project. The sub-plan is located along the existing Drachtstervaart canal that has an open connection with the Frisian lakes. The homes offered consist of terraced houses, semi-detached houses and detached houses. There are also plots for sale. All homes will be completely gas-free and highly energy efficient. AG NOVA Architecten designed the homes. They have a distinctive modern architectural style. In addition, many of the homes have their own mooring dock for a boat.
