Residents strengthen biodiversity during celebration of Hof van Breezicht completion in Zwolle

On Wednesday 13 July, the completion of the Hof van Breezicht new-build project in Zwolle was celebrated by planting trees in the bioswale. Together with the residents, alderman Monique Schuttenbeld, PHB director Gerwin van de Zande and Miranda Venekamp-Brandt, VanWonen Director of Marketing, Sales & Rental Operations, several trees were planted in the bioswale to jointly enhance the biodiversity in this new neighbourhood.
During the start of construction in February 2021, the project parties and a number of buyers received a small tree, with the request to care for it and plant it in the bioswale after the completion. All 91 homes in Hof van Breezicht have now been completed. Alderman Monique Schuttenbeld: “I’m pleased that this project has enabled many people to find a new home in this beautiful green neighbourhood of Zwolle. Breezicht as a whole has been designed with a lot of space for greenery and water and all that is evident here in the Hof van Breezicht. By planting these trees together with the residents, the neighbourhood will become even greener. A lovely place to meet your neighbours and enjoy the neighbourhood.”
Healthy living environment
Miranda Venekamp-Brandt adds: “We develop green and climate-proof living environments that, by building in a nature-inclusive way, contribute to the biodiversity in neighbourhoods. In Hof van Breezicht we are doing this together with the residents, by planting trees in the bioswale.”
The homes in Hof van Breezicht are climate-proof and equipped with their own heat supply. Gerwin van de Zande: “The sustainably built homes tie in well with the idea of a green environment.”
