Alderman gives go-ahead for Buitenveld project in Ede
News item, Area and Property Development
On Friday afternoon, Peter de Pater, alderman for spatial planning in Ede, ceremoniously gave the go-ahead for the construction of 26 homes in the Buitenveld project in the Kernhem district. It concerns 12 end-of-terrace houses and 14 mid-terrace houses. Of these, 5 are owner-occupied homes in the affordable housing programme. All homes will be zero-energy and equipped with district heating. Buitenveld is a project of development combination Kernhem CV, a partnership of area developer VanWonen and Van Campen Bouwgroep. All 26 homes have been sold.
Celebration of start construction
A celebratory act marked the start of construction of the Buitenveld project. After the official programme, the future residents had the opportunity to get to know each other and share their first experiences while enjoying a drink. Alderman Peter de Pater congratulated the residents on their new homes: “As Ede’s town council, we are very pleased that many people in Kernhem have found a beautiful, sustainable and affordable new build in a green environment, which Ede is known for.”
Buitenveld: small scale and green
Buitenveld is a small-scale new build project close to the Doesburgerdijk. Along this dike there is an ecozone with all kinds of animals and plants. This wildlife area is practically in the new residents’ backyards. Green verges, lots of trees and beech hedges enhance the green character.
Mireille Jeurnink, VanWonen’s Director of Property Development: “In Buitenveld, green space plays the leading role. People will live here in comfort, health and peace. Also, all homes will be zero-energy. Another beautiful project as part of our VanWonen mission: creating homes and living environments for the healthiest generations.”
Kernhem character
As in the rest of Kernhem, most of the houses in project Buitenveld have a pitched roof with eaves. The warm red ‘Kernhem brick’ is also used. Richard te Vaarwerk, Technical Director of Van Campen Bouwgroep: “We are proud of the houses we get to build in Buitenveld. Almost no street looks the same due to the different types of houses and architecture. The front gardens differ in depth, the direction of the roofs varies and the façades feature all kinds of details in brickwork and wood.” Completion of the homes in Buitenveld is scheduled from the end of the first quarter in 2023.
Presale Kernhemmerpark
The presale has started for the homes in the next project of development combination Kernhem: Kernhemmer Park. The project consists of 21 mid-terrace houses, 8 end-of-terrace houses, some with a garage, and 6 semi-detached houses with a garage on very spacious lots. It is now possible to register via www.kernhemmerpark.nl (in Dutch only).
