Start of construction celebration for 76 homes in Tuinen van Huissen

The construction of the Tuinen van Huissen project kicked off in style on Thursday afternoon. The project of area developer VanWonen involves 76 gas-free and zero-energy homes. On the site, formerly used for greenhouse horticulture, a green and varied neighbourhood will emerge, with both owner-occupied and rental housing. Vastbouw handles the construction of the project. All owner-occupied homes have been sold. The future residents toasted to a bright future in Huissen.

Hosted by entertainer ‘Bert the Builder’ and in the presence of the future residents, alderman Johan Sluiter (municipality of Lingewaard), Miranda Venekamp-Brandt (VanWonen) and Ronnie Hondeveld (Vastbouw) ceremoniously kicked off the start of construction. After the official programme, the future residents had the opportunity to get to know each other and share their first experiences while enjoying a drink.

The alderman congratulated the residents on their new homes: “I am very pleased with the construction of 76 homes in the Tuinen van Huissen project. As in the rest of the Netherlands, the demand for housing is huge here. I therefore congratulate my future neighbours on their beautiful, sustainable homes and wish them happiness in the most beautiful town of Lingewaard.”

Tuinen van Huissen
Tuinen van Huissen (‘Gardens of Huissen’) is a unique neighbourhood in the town of Huissen, situated south of Arnhem. With a varied choice of cafés and restaurants, a picturesque town centre, and several arterial roads nearby, it is conveniently located. The project offers a range of housing options: social and private rental sector homes, and owner-occupied houses. From terraced houses and housing for seniors, to semi-detached and detached houses.
