Hart van de Waalsprong welcomes seven new retailers
News item, Area and Property Development
Seven new retailers are coming to the Hart van de Waalsprong shopping centre in Nijmegen. Development combination Hart van de Waalsprong, a partnership between area developers AM and VanWonen, has signed lease agreements with HEMA, Kruidvat, Norah women’s fashion, fitness centre Blue Fit, pet shop De Bok, florist Bloei and wine shop Henri Bloem. This means that the entire second phase of the first zero-energy shopping centre in the Netherlands, currently under construction, has now been fully leased.
Second phase leases
Blue Fit, Norah, and pet shop De Bok will be the new tenants of the distinctive Front building on Moormannstraat. Blue Fit, a fitness centre, will take up most of the ground floor with nearly 600 square meters, and is set to open to the public in early 2025. Right next door, Norah will launch its new women’s fashion shop, and pet shop De Bok will also move in. Both are expected to open their doors in mid-2025. HEMA and Kruidvat will be opening their branches in the Grutto building, which is still under construction. They will also open in the middle of next year.
Recently opened shops and restaurants
Wine shop Henri Bloem recently opened its doors as part of the first phase of the shopping centre. Florist Bloei has secured a prime location in a corner building across from the multi-storey car park. Bairro Alto’s newest coffee bar, An, has opened its doors on Watersingel. With the exception of one remaining unit, the centre of 11,800 square metres, housing 34 units, is now fully leased. Pact Retail and Strijbosch Thunnissen oversaw the rental transactions. The shopping centre has been sold to Hans Geveling Vastgoed.
