Neighbourhood Crescent-West is surrounded by the bustling city centre of Apeldoorn. In addition to 14 owner-occupied homes, 30 rental homes are being developed. The homes are scheduled for completion after the summer of 2022.
Mix of owner-occupied and rental homes
“The location is central and unique. In this project, we have made a conscious choice for a mix of rental and owner-occupied homes: from urban villas to apartments. The owner-occupied homes will have a spacious city garden or roof terrace, with a parking space in the enclosed communal area. This meeting place connects all residents,” says Willeke Haasjes, Sales Manager at VanWonen.
The rental application process for the apartments started at the end of 2021. “Many people have shown an interest in this project as potential tenants. Currently, all apartments have been rented out, and that is why we have organised private viewing days in the month of April. So that the new residents can meet their future neighbours, and to give them the opportunity to take a look around in their apartment that is still under construction,” says Dorien Bakker, Leasing Coordinator at VanWonen.
VanWonen’s involvement stands out
Margreet and Hans Steenhuis are among the couples that visited these viewing days. Margreet: “We started our search with the idea of buying a home. Thanks to our former neighbours, the idea of renting came on the radar; they told us about the rental apartments in Crescent-West. Our enthusiasm bubbled up, with apartments like that close to the train station in Apeldoorn, and with all amenities within easy reach: that’s ideal for us.”
“Oh yes, we applied immediately,” says Hans. One thing that stood out for us right away was the involvement of VanWonen. Personal, professional and when we have questions, we are quickly provided with clear information. In the new development, sustainability is an important factor and we are pleased with that. There is a heat pump and the solar panels generate sustainable energy. This is all new to us, so we want to know all about it. We can’t wait to turn the key to our new home after the summer, so that we can keep enjoying life together, surrounded by the lively city centre of Apeldoorn.
