In Lange Wemen in Hengelo, the old Thiemsbrug shopping centre will be replaced by a new residential area, a new shopping centre with apartments and underground parking. This includes restaurant space of 720 square meter. VanWonen has sold this restaurant space to a restaurant entrepreneur. The 31 social rental apartments and 8 mid-priced rental apartments above the restaurant area have been sold to housing association Welbions. In total, Lange Wemen will accommodate 250 to 300 homes and 4,000 m2 of commercial space. Planned handover phase 1: October 2025.
