Independent assessment helps reputation
Alfred Bolks, CEO of VanWonen: “We are aware that the reputation of our industry is under pressure in society. That is why we have asked independent researchers to assess our performance on all aspects of sustainable business practices. This allows us to demonstrate to all of our stakeholders how we explicitly take into account the impact of our operations on the environment, people and society, in addition to financial returns and risk. Our improved ESG rating shows that VanWonen is on a journey to becoming increasingly sustainable in its day-to-day operations.”
The 2024 assessment by Sustainalytics shows an improved score in the area of managing ESG risks. Marcel de Ruiter, ESG Manager at VanWonen, is proud: Over the past year, we have worked hard with all colleagues on the areas for improvement that emerged from the first assessment. It’s great to see that our efforts are paying off. Moreover, the assessment process with Sustainalytics is also helping us to prepare for upcoming legislation such as CSRD and EU taxonomy.”
