Start of construction celebration for 11 homes Hofstede in Borne
News item, Area and Property Development
On Friday afternoon, alderman Arthur Lammers ceremoniously gave the go-ahead for the construction of 11 homes in Borne. The future residents were present during the ceremony. It concerns the Hofstede project, phase 2, in the Eschwonen neighbourhood. The project by partnership Bouwontwikkeling De Bongerd consists of three detached houses and eight semi-detached houses. All homes have been sold. Development combination Bornsche Maten is responsible for the realisation. The handover of the project is expected to start in the first quarter of 2027.
After the official programme, the future residents had the opportunity to get to know each other and share their first experiences. Alderman Arthur Lammers: “I am proud of the developments in this beautiful district. There is a substantial housing demand in Borne. We are addressing this through projects such as Hofstede phase 2 to make sure that residents have a pleasant place to live. I would like to congratulate the future residents on their new homes. I wish everyone much happiness in this wonderful, sustainable and green neighbourhood.”
Hofstede in Borne
The homes in the Hofstede phase 2 project are being built with sustainability in mind. The homes meet the BENG requirements (nearly-zero energy buildings, NZE-B), are gasless and will be rated A+++ on the energy label. Hofstede phase 2 is similar in appearance to phase 1. These spacious homes exude a 1930s feel and fit perfectly into the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The homes in phase 1 have already been built and are occupied, making them ideal for experiencing the neighbourhood’s atmosphere. Chiel Grieving, on behalf of De Bongerd: “Borne is a sought-after residential area. It’s no surprise that these 11 homes were sold quickly. It will be a pleasant place to live, with a peaceful village-like vibe, and all the important amenities still within easy reach. Adding to the appeal, these homes have a charming 1930s look with unique details. A fantastic project for our skilled team!”
Eschwonen
The Hofstede project is located in the Eschwonen subplan of the Bornsche Maten expansion district. In phase 1, 22 homes were constructed and are now occupied. In phase 2, 11 new homes will be built: semi-detached houses and detached houses. The Bornsche Maten is located in the southeast of the municipality of Borne. In this new residential area, around 2,300 homes will be built. The district comprises eight neighbourhoods, each with its own residential atmosphere. They are all located around the park Bornsche Beekpark. De Maten and De Horsten are still in full development. Nieuw Borne, Oost Esch, Eschwonen, Singelwonen, De Veste and Tuinstad have largely been realised.
Sale of next phase has started
The sale of 43 homes in new housing project Twist I and II in Bornsche Maten has started. All the homes in Twist I have been sold; a few homes are still available in Twist II.
