Construction kicks off for 24 homes in the Twist project in Borne
News item, Area and Property Development
On Friday afternoon, 25 September, alderman Bastian Drees ceremoniously gave the go-ahead for the construction of 24 homes in phase 1 of the Twist project in Bornsche Maten, Borne. The future residents were present during the ceremony. The project by Bouwontwikkeling De Bongerd consists of detached houses, semi-detached houses and terraced houses. The firm Architecten Voormorgen, based in Enschede, designed the homes. Development combination Bornsche Maten is responsible for the realisation. The handover of the homes is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
After the official programme, the future residents had the opportunity to get to know each other and share their first experiences. Alderman Bastian Drees: “Standing here today and seeing how this neighbourhood begins to take shape, fills me with pride. We have a great need for new housing in Borne. We are addressing this through projects such as Twist phase 1, to make sure that residents have a good place to live. I would like to congratulate the future residents on their new homes. And I wish everyone much happiness in this wonderful, sustainable and green neighbourhood.”
Twist in Borne
Phase 1 of project Twist offers a varied range of house types: 2 detached houses, 18 semi-detached houses (3 featuring a front-gable roof), and 4 terraced houses. The homes are spacious, with contemporary architecture. The 18 semi-detached houses come in four different types and share the same high-quality brickwork in yellow, red and brown colour variations. Each home has a spacious kitchen-diner, three bedrooms and a large attic. Unique architectural details in the façade give every house its own distinct character. In three semi-detached houses, the roof shape is also varied. Large windows flood the interiors with natural light. The houses in Twist are gas-free, meet the BENG requirements (nearly-zero energy buildings, NZE-B) and will be rated A+++ on the energy label.
Wietse Boer, on behalf of development consortium Bornsche Maten: “It is wonderful to see that once again so many people from Borne and the surrounding area have found their dream home in Bornsche Maten. That all 24 homes were sold so quickly shows how great the demand is for spacious homes with character. Thanks to the modern architecture, diverse housing types, and generous floor plans, there is a perfect home for everyone here. We can’t wait for construction to start and to hand over the keys to the first buyers.”
