Start of construction celebration for 88 homes Dillekwartier in Arnhem

News item, Area and Property Development

The construction of 88 homes in the Dillekwartier project in Arnhem was festively kicked off on Tuesday afternoon, 16 June, with the future residents present. The project was developed by VanWonen and is being realized by Veluwezoom Verkerk Bouw. The development features a diverse mix of housing types: terraced houses, semi-detached houses, detached houses and ageing-in-place homes. The handover is scheduled for the first half of 2027.

The Dillekwartier project is part of the new Kruidenhorst neighbourhood on the green northern edge of Schuytgraaf in Arnhem, close to the ecological zone and the floodplain landscape of the Lower Rhine.

Sustainable homes with NL Greenlabel
Mireille Jeurnink, Director of Property Development at VanWonen: “The Dillekwartier will be a wonderful place to live, in a gorgeous green setting. Residents will enjoy peace and quiet, with a shopping centre, sports clubs, and schools all nearby. The lively Arnhem city centre is also easily accessible by bicycle or public transport. The homes meet high sustainability standards. Dillekwartier is the very first VanWonen project that has received an NL Area Label.”

NL Greenlabel’s Area Label is a method for assessing the sustainability of outdoor areas. Based on the themes of climate, biodiversity and health, an integrated approach to design, construction and management is achieved. The label provides insight into the degree of sustainability and offers tools to further enhance an area’s sustainability.

Modern village-inspired architecture
Dillekwartier was designed by Weusten Liedenbaum Architecten. The result is a modern, village-inspired architectural style, characterized by natural materials and distinctive details such as eye-catching dormers and finely executed masonry.

Ron Brons, Managing Director of Veluwezoom Verkerk: “It’s great that we have started the construction of this sustainable project. All homes in Dillekwartier will be fully zero-energy through integrated building features. This is achieved by things like robust insulation, solar panels, heat recovery systems and green roofs. And we’re also integrating provisions for insects, birds and bats. With its beautiful architecture, this project is a fantastic undertaking for our skilled people.”

Project timeline
The 88 homes in the first phase of Dillekwartier are scheduled for handover in the first half of 2027. A few homes are still available. The sale of the second phase of Dillekwartier, comprising 28 homes of various types, will begin soon. For more information and registration: www.dillekwartier.nl.
