Start of construction celebration Park Rapijnen project in Linschoten
News item, Area and Property Development
On Tuesday afternoon, 10 February, aldermen Rob Jonkers and Wim van Wikselaar gave the official go-ahead for the construction of Park Rapijnen in Linschoten. A total of 96 new homes will be built here, directly adjacent to the Groene Hart (Green Heart) region. Park Rapijnen is a joint development of BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling and VanWonen. Bolton Ontwikkeling & Bouw handles the construction. The first homes are scheduled for handover in the first quarter of 2027.
The start of construction for the 96 homes in Park Rapijnen was symbolically marked by the driving of the first foundation pile by aldermen Rob Jonkers and Wim van Wikselaar. The festive event was attended by both future residents and involved partners.
The project consists of 67 owner-occupied homes in various price ranges and 29 social homes for Cazas Wonen. The new residential area is being developed in a unique location south of Linschoten: nestled between the sports park and the characteristic ‘cope landscape’ of the Groene Hart region, recognizable by its long, narrow lots.
Strong local ties and housing mobility
Rob Jonkers, alderman for spatial planning in the municipality of Montfoort: “This symbolic first pile marks a milestone for all parties involved and the buyers. Construction is now officially underway. This is the final stage of a multi-year preparation process. By next year, buyers will be able to move into their new homes. It’s not just great that we are expanding the housing supply in our municipality; many of these homes will also be occupied by people who already live in our municipality. This will ensure the necessary housing mobility.”
There was a lot of interest in Park Rapijnen. All homes were sold in a very short period of time. Approximately 55 percent of the buyers are from the municipality of Montfoort. This means that the project not only contributes to expanding the housing stock, but also to mobility within the municipality.
Varied range of housing
Park Rapijnen offers a wide mix of housing types, with a particular focus on first-time home buyers, people moving up on the housing ladder, and seniors. The housing programme includes:
- Social housing apartments
- Apartments for first-time home buyers and affordable owner-occupied homes
- ‘Ageing in place’ homes
- Park homes
- Semi-detached houses
- Detached houses
These low-energy, future-proof homes are being built in accordance with the latest sustainability standards. The design of the homes and public space emphasizes ample green space and a high-quality living environment. Great care has also been taken to reflect the distinctive village-like structure of Linschoten. The architectural design was carried out by MIX Architectuur and the urban development plan by RROG Stedenbouw en Landschap.
Project timeline
The first homes are expected to be handed over in the first quarter of 2027. The entire project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
