Nestled by the Oosterhoutse Plas lake, right in the heart of the Waalsprong, and conveniently close to both the Nijmegen-Lent train station and the lively city of Nijmegen, you will soon find Groene Erven. A beautiful new housing development with 128 zero-energy homes. The five clusters (‘erven’ in Dutch) with homes will be playfully scattered across a gently sloping landscape and around a large green, landscaped field. This field, which houses an archaeological site, is protected from development. Within the clusters, residents will enjoy ‘garden nooks’, while ample public green space, with colourful flower fields and trees, embraces the entire development. Here, you can enjoy wonderful privacy yet never feel alone. The design of Groene Erven encourages residents to engage in shared activities, like maintaining the public green space or organising a barbecue.

Varied range of house types
Groene Erven offers something for everyone - young and old, families and couples - due to the diverse range of house types. In addition to 82 single-family houses (ranging from approx. 127 to almost 155 m²), the project will also include 16 ageing-in-place homes (around 128 m²) and provide 30 affordable terraced houses (from around 93 m²). Private parking awaits in one of the green parking courtyards, conveniently close to each home. Every home has a lovely backyard, but the outdoor space feels almost endless, thanks to the surrounding natural landscape and low, green property divisions. The plan’s design also encourages residents to engage in shared activities, like maintaining the public green space or organising a barbecue.

Planning
VanWonen expects to open registration for the homes around the summer of 2025. The sale will start after the summer (September/October). Construction is scheduled to start in the first half of 2026. The first homes will be handed over just under a year later.
