The Park Rapijnen project was developed in close collaboration with the municipality of Montfoort following an extensive participation process involving local residents, sports clubs and other stakeholders. Throughout this process, careful consideration was given to which elements could be integrated into the subsequent design. The initial draft plan evolved through multiple stages of participation, shaped by the input, suggestions and concerns of those involved. The outcome was presented to the neighbourhood during a final meeting, after which the bench of Mayor and Aldermen adopted the urban development plan.

The further development of the project and the creation of a new Zoning Plan started in early 2023. In June 2023, the zoning plan, together with the draft layout plan and the first drawings for the homes, will be presented to local residents and other stakeholders.  It is expected that the draft zoning plan will be reviewed by the Mayor and Aldermen in September/October 2023, followed by a six-week period for public inspection.

Currently, architects, other advisors and the prospective contractor are working diligently on the (technical) design of the landscape and the homes. Park Rapijnen will be a green park with a variety of housing types. Within this variety, a consistent architectural style will emerge. This means that the housing types will differ from each other, but together form one Park Rapijnen.

The homes are expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2024.
