News item, Area and Property Development
On Thursday afternoon, development combination De Bongerd celebrated the start of construction of 33 homes in the Spinnersbrink project, together with the future residents. The buyers of the 500th home in Bornsche Maten were put in the limelight by Born alderman Martin Velten.
Hosted by entertainer ‘Bert the Builder’ and in the presence of the future residents, the start of construction of the Spinnersbrink project kicked off ceremoniously, with everyone being in a cheerful mood. Special attention was paid to the 500th home of De Bongerd in Bornsche Maten. Alderman Martin Velten surprised the buyers of this home with a bouquet of flowers. After the official programme, the future residents had the opportunity to get to know each other and share their first experiences while enjoying a drink.
The alderman is proud: “I would like to congratulate the residents of Spinnersbrink on their new homes in Bornsche Maten. I wish everyone much happiness in this beautiful new neighbourhood in Borne.”
Spinnersbrink
The Spinnersbrink project is located in the Eschwonen subplan of the Bornsche Maten expansion district. Close to the pumping station, locally known as the ‘Water Machine’, 33 new homes are being built: terraced houses, semi-detached houses and detached houses. In the development of the houses, the appearance and historic character of the Water Machine, which transferred water from the clay holes to a water treatment plant of the textile mills in the early 1900s, has been taken into account.
Mireille Jeurnink, Director of Property Development at VanWonen, on behalf of development combination De Bongerd: “We are proud of the milestone of 500 homes in Bornsche Maten. Here in Spinnersbrink, the future residents are sure to enjoy their new stylish and comfortable homes. Also, in these times of energy crisis, it is a reassuring thought that the new builds in Spinnersbrink are low-energy and gas-free.”
Bornsche Maten
The Bornsche Maten plan area is located in the southeast of the municipality of Borne. In this new residential area, around 2,300 homes will be built. The district comprises eight neighbourhoods, each with its own residential atmosphere. They are all located around the park Bornsche Beekpark. Nieuw Borne, Oost Esch, Singelwonen, De Veste and Tuinstad have largely been realised. De Maten, Eschwonen and De Horsten are in full development, with most of the houses currently being built in the subplan Eschwonen.
