Start of construction celebration for Leukeburen project in De Tippe, Zwolle

The construction of 52 homes in the Leukeburen project in De Tippe, Zwolle, kicked off with a celebration on Thursday afternoon. In the presence of the future residents, the Zwolle alderman Gerdien Rots performed the ground-breaking ceremony. Leukeburen has a great diversity of houses in different price ranges. The homes were designed by Weusten Liedenbaum and are built by Veluwezoom Verkerk. All homes have been sold.

A dazzling dance performance kicked off the construction of the Leukeburen project with a festive bang. Alderman Gerdien Rots welcomed the future residents, saying: “This project’s mix of housing options – from starter homes to those designed for ageing in place – brings together people of all ages. It’s wonderful to see and helps keep the housing market moving. It brings us, the municipality, great joy that once again a large group of future residents has found a beautiful and sustainable home in De Tippe. I wish all buyers much happiness in their new homes!”

Shared green courtyards
The Leukeburen project consists of two locations, both in the Poldergrid neighbourhood of De Tippe, surrounded by green spaces and water. The project is being developed in a climate-adaptive way. For instance, rainwater will be infiltrated on-site, using infiltration crates. There will also be nature inclusive features, such as nesting boxes in façades and insect hotels.

Mireille Jeurnink, Director of Property Development at VanWonen, is proud: “We have developed a beautifully diverse residential programme in Leukeburen. The project includes terraced housing, homes that are suitable for ‘ageing in place’, semi-detached houses and one detached house. All homes are zero energy. The two shared courtyards are particularly noteworthy, as they facilitate social interaction among neighbours. The future residents had a say in the overall look and feel, together choosing a theme that landscape architect Luijendijk used to design the layout and planting.”

Ron Brons, Director of Veluwezoom Verkerk, adds: “We are proud to realize this beautiful project together with VanWonen. The houses in Leukeburen feature diverse designs and attractive architecture. Our people are happy to bring these homes to life.”

Expected handover
The handover of the Leukeburen homes will be around the summer of 2025. VanWonen is developing several projects in De Tippe. A limited number of homes is still available in subprojects Besterburen, Naasteburen and Goedeburen. For more information and registration: www.wonenindetippe.nl
